Below is an overview of what you can expect when you engage with our counselling services.
Initial Contact and Intake Process
Upon reaching out to us, you will be greeted by our friendly staff who will guide you through scheduling your first appointment.
You will receive intake paperwork electronically, which we ask you to complete prior to your first session (this will save us time in your first session). This paperwork helps us gain insight into your background, concerns, and goals for counselling.
First Session
Your first session with us will involve a thorough review of the intake paperwork. This provides us with a foundational understanding of your unique situation and allows us to tailor our approach to your needs.
We will introduce you to our person-centred counselling approach, which prioritizes your autonomy, self-discovery, and personal growth. This means that you are the expert on your own experiences, and we are here to support you in exploring and understanding.
During this initial session we will explore the vital question of "what do you want?"
Exploration of Thoughts and Behaviours
Subsequent sessions will focus on delving deeper into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours within a safe and non-judgmental space.
Through open dialogue and collaborative exploration, we will work together to identify underlying patterns and triggers that may be contributing to your challenges. We will also explore alternative perspectives and coping strategies to help you navigate these difficulties more effectively.
Safe Space to Be Open
Our counselling environment is intentionally designed to be a safe and confidential space where clients can feel comfortable being open and vulnerable.
We recognize and respect the unique experiences and societal pressures that many people face today, and we strive to create an atmosphere free from judgment, stigma, or expectations of traditional roles in society.
