At Whole Counselling, we are dedicated to supporting our clients emotional health and mental fitness while recognising the unique challenges faced in today's world. Navigating the complexities of modern society can be particularly demanding, as we contend with societal expectations, work and family pressures like never before.
Our goal is to provide a safe and empathetic space where clients can explore their emotions, confront societal norms, challenge their thinking and develop the resilience they need to thrive during times of change.
With a holistic focus on psychological and physical fitness we understand the importance of addressing physical health in achieving holistic and sustained wellbeing. At Whole Counselling we believe that a healthy body helps create a healthy mind.
Whole Counselling fosters a holistic approach to mental fitness that promotes personal growth, resilience, and overall health and wellbeing.
Positive Psychology
Positive psychology focusses on our strengths rather than weaknesses.
A positive psychology therapeutic approach aims to build the good in our life, instead of just repairing the bad. It aims to take aspects we consider “average” up to a “great”, instead of focusing solely on moving aspects we consider “bad” up to “normal”.
Positive psychology therapy is the creation of a life most worth living.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
CBT is an effective, evidence-based psychological treatment approach that enhances self-esteem and confidence while diminishing various mental health issues like anxiety, depression, anger and substance misuse.
CBT is based on the concept that our deeply ingrained core beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world shapes our thinking. Subsequently, our thinking dictates our emotions, behaviours, and responses to situations.
CBT involves working with a therapist to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and beliefs. These are then challenged and replaced with more helpful and balanced thoughts. This process leads to a significant improvement in how you feel and behave.
Growth Mindset
Having a growth mindset means believing that a person's abilities aren't innate but can be improved through effort, learning, and persistence. A growth mindset is all about the attitude with which a person faces challenges, how they process failures, and how they adapt and evolve as a result.
At Whole Counselling, we believe a growth mindset is an integral part of developing lasting change. To this end, we aim to develop this in our clients.
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
SFT focusses on our present and future circumstances and goals, rather than past experiences.
We find that men excel in this goal-orientated approach.
We work with our clients to develop a vision of their future and ensure they are offered the support, knowledge and resources to develop the abilities and skills needed to achieve their vision.
